The AEEE was inaugurated for year 2012-2013 on 26/07/2012 by  Dr.V.Vaidhehi,Head of the Department, Department of Information Technology, Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai presided over the inaugural function and delivered a lecture on “Power Optimization in Wireless sensor network”.
