Comparison of Hardisk vs Flash memory

Comparison of Hardisk vs Flash memory:
The type of storage memory that users afford will always depend on the needs and the budget. At present, user can use a 64 GB USB pen drive for example Transcend JetFlash 500, HP v280w 64GB for around RS 2,500. This holds capacity of around 13,000 MP3 songs at an average of 5MB per song.

A 128GB drive for example Sandisk Cruzer SDCZ60-128 G-B 35 costs around RS 4,100  and if any user is looking for more storage, then he could pick up a 256GB drive Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0, though this is harder to come by and is quite expensive of around RS 18,000.

Advantages of a pen drive:

1. portable, and
2. It is safer to withstand bumps and shocks better than any hard drive.

Disadvantage of a pen drive:
-Due to its smaller size - pen drives are more unfortunate to get misplaced or lost.

In financial terms, portable hard drives are more economical. User could afford a 500GB hard drive Ex: Seagate Expansion Falcun, Adata AHV610-500 GU3-CBKBL , WD 500 GB which are capable of storing over 1.02 lakh songs at economical rate of RS 3,700. As these drives can employ the USB 3.0 standard, data transfer rate is much faster compared to normal hard drives theoretically it is 10 times faster than USB 2.0.

Conclusion:
The need for the memory elements are increasing but the most attractive and needed one will depend purely on portability , durability and expandability. Based on these facts external hard disks is the best choice of storage.
