New Technology for charging mobile

SHARE

In Washington a new device has been invented which can charge your mobile phone with a hot cup of coffee or a cold drink mug. This technique has been developed by a US based company. This company enables a system that can convert the warmth of your hot coffee or iced beverage into power for user’s phone. This is an light weighted portable device , which can be kept in a purse or day bag for emergencies.

It  uses a Stirling engine powered solely by heat disparities to generate the electricity to keep users phone up and running. The Stirling engine is noted for its high efficiency compared to steam engines, quiet operation, and the ease with which it can use almost any heat source.Epiphany Labs uses different materials in the system to enable this technology in a rather different way. The optimization of this system comes in terms of size.

The working prototype of the Epiphany ONE PUCK is not bigger than the bottom of a ordinary tea cup, hence it is so small to carry around very easily. This device has two major parts, one part is a blue section for cold drinks and second part is a red section for hot drinks eg. tea cup.  Hot section overtakes the cold one in optimally charging the phone.

This device comes with a USB port which enables charging of any device that draws 1000mA. Hence it can be used to charge iPhones, Androids, iPods and other USB-based devices. Epiphany Labs reveals that, in ideal conditions, the device would be able to charge your phone at the same rate as it being charged normally. This device can also work in less-than-ideal conditions, but if it is not placed in a fresh hot drink, user will have to wait a little longer for device being charged completely.
